MT5

MetaTrader 5 login, orders, charts, symbols, trade history, EAs and troubleshooting.

MetaTrader 5, commonly called MT5, is a professional multi-asset trading platform used to access charts, place orders, manage positions and view account history. Elefin offers MT5 access for desktop, web and mobile, subject to account approval.

Open MT5, select the Elefin server, enter your trading account number and password, then confirm the login. The official server name should be copied exactly from your Elefin client portal or onboarding email once finalized.

Your MT5 account number, server and initial password should be available in the client portal or official account email after the trading account is created. Never rely on server names or links shared by unofficial social media accounts.

This usually means the account number, password or server is incorrect, or the account is not active. Confirm the login details from the client portal, check for extra spaces while copying and contact support if the issue continues.

Check your internet connection, server selection and device firewall settings. If other websites work but MT5 does not connect, restart MT5, try another network and contact support with a screenshot and time stamp.

Open Market Watch, right-click or tap the symbol list and choose the option to show or add symbols. Search for the instrument group you want, such as Forex, Metals, Energies, Indices, Shares or Crypto, then enable the symbol.

Some instruments may be hidden by default in Market Watch, unavailable on your account type, outside trading hours or not yet enabled. Use the symbol list to show hidden instruments, and contact support if a required symbol is missing.

Select the symbol, open the New Order window, enter the volume, review the order type and click Buy or Sell. Before placing the trade, check the lot size, margin impact, spread, stop-loss, take-profit and current market conditions.

Open the New Order window and choose a pending order type such as Buy Limit, Sell Limit, Buy Stop or Sell Stop, depending on the platform options. Enter the price, volume, expiry if required and risk-management levels before confirming the order.

A stop-loss is an order intended to limit losses by closing a position if the market reaches a specified level. It is a useful risk-management tool, but it does not guarantee execution at the exact requested price during gaps, news events or low liquidity.

A take-profit order is designed to close a trade automatically when the market reaches a selected profit level. It helps traders plan exits in advance, but execution depends on market conditions and platform pricing.

Open the Trade tab, select the position and choose the modify option to update stop-loss or take-profit levels. Always confirm the correct symbol, position direction and new price levels before submitting changes.

Open the Trade tab, select the position and choose Close. Check the symbol, lot size and current price before confirming because closed trades cannot be reopened automatically at the same price.

Partial close may be available if the remaining volume and closing volume meet the minimum lot-size requirements. For Elefin accounts, the minimum lot size is 0.01, so any remaining position must comply with platform rules.

The Trade tab usually displays balance, equity, margin, free margin and margin level. Balance reflects closed results, while equity changes with floating profit or loss from open positions.

Balance is the amount in your account after closed trades and transactions. Equity is balance plus or minus floating profit or loss from open positions, and it is the key value used for margin level calculations.

Margin level is usually shown in the Trade tab when positions are open. It is calculated using equity and used by the platform to determine margin call and stop-out risk.

Open the History tab and select the date range you want to review. You can view closed trades, deposits, withdrawals and balance operations depending on platform configuration.

MT5 usually allows account history reports to be saved or exported. For official records, confirm the date range and contact support if you need a formal statement from Elefin.

Expert Advisors may be supported on MT5 where platform settings allow automated trading. However, any automated strategy must comply with Elefin rules, and abusive practices such as latency arbitrage, manipulation or exploitation of feed errors are prohibited.

Custom indicators may be used on MT5 desktop where installation is supported. Indicators are tools for analysis only and do not guarantee profitable outcomes.

Yes you can install the native MT5 App on your Mac. MT5 access on Mac may be available through web access, third-party compatibility methods or platform versions depending on current availability in your region too.

Yes, MT5 mobile apps are available for supported iOS and Android devices. Always download MT5 from official app stores and connect using the official Elefin server details.

Timeframes control how each candlestick or bar is displayed, such as one minute, five minutes, one hour or daily. Timeframes help traders analyze different market views but do not predict future price movement.

Prices may differ between brokers because of liquidity sources, pricing models, spreads, execution venues, contract specifications and server timing. Elefin orders are triggered and executed based on Elefin platform prices, not external prices.

One-click trading allows orders to be placed quickly with minimal confirmation. It can be useful for experienced traders but increases the risk of accidental orders, one should enable it only if they understand how it works.

Right-click on a chart or use chart settings to change colors, candlestick style, grid, period separators and other display preferences. Chart appearance does not affect execution or account conditions.

Orders may be rejected due to insufficient margin, invalid volume, market closure, incorrect price, disabled symbol, platform restriction or volatile conditions. Review the message in MT5 and contact support with order details if you believe the rejection was incorrect.

No. Orders can only execute during the trading hours of the relevant instrument, although pending orders may be placed if platform rules allow. Check symbol trading hours in MT5 before planning trades.

The Journal tab records platform events such as logins, connection status, order messages and errors. It can be useful when troubleshooting platform issues with support.

Yes, MT5 passwords can usually be changed from the platform or client portal depending on configuration. Use a strong password and avoid reusing passwords from other websites.

A trading password allows order placement and account management, while an investor password usually provides read-only access. Never share your trading password; if read-only access is needed, use an investor password where available.
